We’re thrilled to announce the Brain Architecture Game: Second Edition has been released by More To Play, a nonprofit organization founded by the members who have steered the first edition of the game since 2009.
Originally created in 2009 at USC, this game has been played by more than 500,000 people worldwide and continues to play a critical role in sharing the science of early childhood development with policymakers, early care and learning providers, K-12 educators, child and family service agencies, and more.
Players better understand the importance of positive early experiences and environments, the harm caused by negative ones, and the crucial role of support for children who experience adversity.
Here are some examples of how the game is used and what players say about it:
- Zuckerman et al. (2020) evaluated the game in activities with policymakers where 1/3 of participants described the game as “transformational,” “impactful,” and “an important learning opportunity.”
- Our Neighborhood Child Development Center on Ivy Road hosted 10 rounds of the Brain Architecture Game during the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s Week of the Young Child.
- The Burke Foundation started its First 1,000 Days Summit, which was co-hosted with the New Jersey Academy of American Pediatrics, with a session of the game.
- Dr. Judy Cameron played the game at the 15th International Training Research Seminar (TRS) in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
