Alumni Out & About (11/5/2013)

Erin Reynold’s thesis game Nevermind was featured on Gamasutra (Oct 29, 2013). Erin and her team have gone around the US and the world virtually with press and awards this year.  We hope this new Kickstarter campaign for horror video games will get funded so that Nevermind can be shown to audiences in film festivals and other film channel distribution formats.

Yasaman Hashemian was in Baltimore, MD at Wireless Health (Nov 1-3, 2013) presenting a demonstration of her thesis Adventurous Dreaming Highflying Dragon: A Full Body Game for Children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). We will be recruiting playtesters for this game this year so if you have a child between the ages of 6 and 8 who have ADHD, contact mgotsis[at]cinema.usc.edu.

Xuan Li was in Laguna Beach, CA at iDMAa (Nov 6-8, 2013) presenting his paper Blowing Blues: Coping with Negative Emotions through Breath Control, based on his thesis project. Xuan has been showing his game to different audiences, most recently with researchers and clinicians at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
